Gray Fox-Gray foxes are the only species of fox on Barry Ridge. They are mostly nocturnal, but are occasionally seen during the day. In the painting a gray fox is emerging after a blizzard. Two feet of snow has weighed down the lowest branches of a fir tree and plastered them to the ground.
